Dreyer Drive #020 - The Boleyn Sisters

Plus double, double-cheeseburgers, toenails, and bright orange luggage.

This week's episode took a hard left turn from toenails in a Cheyenne hotel room (more on that later, unfortunately) to one of history's spiciest sibling rivalries. If you thought your sister borrowing your favorite sweater without asking was dramatic, wait until you hear about Mary and Anne Boleyn.

Before we dive into Tudor drama, let's address the elephant in the room: yes, Jacqueline slept in a bed with a stranger’s toenails. Yes, she has video evidence. Yes, her family made a family pact to protect her eldest son from this knowledge until they were safely out of Wyoming.

But the real meat of this episode is all about the Boleyn sisters, a story that proves that sometimes the "fun" sister actually wins in the end. While Anne Boleyn was playing 16th-century chess with Henry VIII (and eventually lost her head over it - literally), Mary was out there living her best life, becoming the "most famous whore in France" (historical record's words, not ours), and eventually choosing love over status. Spoiler alert: only one of them kept their head, and it wasn't the one who created an entire church just to get married.

Quick family update: Jacqueline's new puppy has mastered the art of human screaming, which is exactly as terrifying as it sounds. She also discovered that giving a puppy a stuffed animal that looks and smells like its mother might actually be psychological warfare, but that's a discussion for another day.

For those keeping score at home:

  • Toenail count in Wyoming hotel: Too many

  • Number of Boleyn heads that rolled: 2

  • Number of churches created just to facilitate a divorce: 1

  • Number of times we've referenced our high school in episodes: Still counting

With the most love, Jacqueline & Ryan

PS: Video proof that for once in my life, I am not exaggerating. Sorry in advance, xo Jacqueline
